Bulgogi Brothers

Friday, March 9, 2012 0
I told Jeff I'll treat him out to lunch for his birthday. I wanted to eat at Pepper Lunch but the line was so long so I told him to check out the other restos. We ended up eating at Bulgogi Brothers. Here are some of the photos we took.

Happy birthday, love! :*

Happy birthday, beyb!

Terry's Selection

Wednesday, February 15, 2012 0

Last night, I've been thinking what to give Jeff for Valentines. I don't have enough budget, plus I don't have time to go out and buy whatever. So I recorded a song for him. If you need lessons on Gifts of a Poor Girl to her Fiance, please talk to me. I have a lot of ideas. :P

Since I don't have a gift for him, I called all the restaurants around the office to book a reservation. Dinner for two is the answer! Apparently, Apartment 1B and Chocolate Fire are fully booked. I can't remember the name of the other restaurant along Leviste, so when I called Apartment 1B, I asked them what was that restaurant. IKR? Haha!

I called Terry's Selection and thank goodness they are not yet fully booked! Yay!

We ordered paella and cuq au vin (geez, somebody teach me how to pronounce this!). Before dinner, Jeff ordered white wine and cheese. Naks pasosyal! Also, Jeff has a 'Valentine pack' for me. It contains: an edible flower, two balloons, and a box of Sonja's cupcakes!

So looks like our Valentines-on-a-budget plan backfired. Happy Valentine's day everyone!

Chef Laudico's BFAST

Thursday, December 8, 2011 2
Nothing special about today other than the feast of the Immaculate Conception, which happened to be celebrated in Antipolo. So mom closed the store in the afternoon. I get to have the afternoon for myself and thought of visiting my fiance. Naks!

I came around 2PM in Makati with a pounding headache and and empty stomach. I asked Jeff to grab some paracetamol before meeting me. He wanted to watch a movie and for the first time, I said no. Naks ulet! I have to leave Makati before 5PM because for sure, traffic will be really bad going back to Antipolo. I asked him if we could eat in Ayala Triangle. He suggested Bfast.

Bfast, or (I think) Breakfast is one of the restaurants in Ayala Triangle. We picked this because, well, it serves salad. Hahaha! Jeff has been on a diet for four days now and he is only allowed to eat fruits and veggies. So far, so good! I see less tummy. My fiance is working hard to lose weight for the wedding, while I still enjoy pigging out.

Anyway, Jeff ordered the Christmas Salad. I had Angus Beef but for some reason, I can't find its picture. Sadness. We also saw Z (aka @zeeheehee on Twitter) here. We have one thing in common, we found love not in a hopeless place, but on Twitter. Awesome, right?

Bfast may stand for 'breakfast' or 'be fast'. I should ask next time. ;)

Omakase - Ayala Triangle

Friday, August 26, 2011 0
Once in a while, Jeff works in Makati, especially when he needs to conduct training and presentations. Today is one of those days. We took advantage of this and met up for lunch. He asked me where I want to eat. I suggested Bonchon (again) but he said it's packed. So we settled for the not so packed Omakase.

The food was great as Jeff and I really love Japanese food. But the service is kinda slow. Maybe it's because there's so many people having their lunch in there or I'm just too hungry. Either way, I think their customer service needs a little polishing. Also, Jeff ordered Uni Sushi but they served Uni Sashimi. He had to wait before the right order was given to him. When we billed out, it took them a while to give us our bill. Frustrating.

Jeff's uni sushi. I'm really not gonna eat this, ever.

Wee Nam Kee

Saturday, June 18, 2011 1
Last February, Jeff bought two coupons from a groupbuy site, Buyanihan. It's a package of body scrub, body wrap and full body massage. We were able to redeem it today. He actually gave the other one to his sister but I suggested that he go with me today because he had a rough week. He's been out of town the entire week, not for fun but for work.

Our appointment was at 12:30PM but we arrived a little late, around 1PM at the Olympia Spa. It's in the Olympia Hotel along Makati Avenue. The scrub/wrap/spa lasted for about 2.5 hours and I was already starving. I asked Jeff if we can eat at Bonchon. This time he said, 'Again?', and suggested Wee Nam Kee instead. Hahaha.

Wee Nam Kee is a Singaporean restaurant. I lived in Singapore for a year and Hainanese Chicken Rice, or simply chicken rice was my staple food for a year. I've eaten in so many chicken rice stores and hawkers around Singapore. Some were as expensive as $5 and some are as cheap as $1. In Singapore, if the chicken rice is $5, it's already expensive unless you are in a hotel or in mall restaurants. Normal price is $2-3. Anyway, this is not our first time to eat in a Singaporean resto. On the day we became a couple, we had lunch at Orchard Road in Megamall after we went to his Lego exhibit. Too bad we don't have pictures then.

Today we have pictures. Bad pictures because I again used my Blackberry. I didn't bring my DSLR today because I am so lazy.

Bonchon Chicken - Ayala Triangle

Saturday, June 11, 2011 1
Remember two posts ago when I said we're definitely coming back? We actually did. This soon. Haha.

This morning, we went to Fr. Aris in his parish church in Quezon City for some marriage advice. You see, I am not a Catholic and Jeff is. So we're looking for a common ground on how to celebrate our wedding. After an hour or so, off we went to Makati.

I told him that I want to eat at Bonchon. He didn't object. It's a Saturday and I was wondering why there wasn't a lot of people in the park. Normally, people are in a very long queue just to get in the restaurants here.

We ordered the Medium Combo of six pieces wings and three pieces legs.
Price: Php 365.00

Bonchon Chicken - Greenbelt 1

Sunday, June 5, 2011 0
Out of the blue, Camela BBMed me that we're gonna have dinner tonight. With the boyfriends. At one point, I convinced myself that I forgot about the appointment. Turns out I didn't. It was an emergency meeting. Haha. Jeff said he couldn't make it. He said a few excuses (yes, I call it excuses) and I didn't try to convince him to come. I don't know why, I just didn't. So I met the girls and their boyfriends in Greenbelt. I suggested Bonchon.

I haven't tried Bonchon. I was really curious. You know what, we were all very satisfied. So yummy! I'm definitely coming back! :D

Jeff's McDo Kiddie Party

Sunday, March 13, 2011 0
I threw a surprise party for Jeff at McDonald's and invited all his friends. Yup, the Girlfriend of the Year award goes to me. LOLS. This is sort of food related, but not really. I just want to share. ;)

Online invitation.

Jeff's Birthday Dinner @ Recipe's Greenbelt

Saturday, March 5, 2011 0
This isn't my first dinner with his family. My first was Jeff officially introduced me to his family four months ago. But this the first time I get to celebrate his birthday. And it's going to be big. ;)

Anyway, we went out today and watched a movie. Then we met his parents and his dad bought him his dream shoes, a pair of Jordans! Yay! We later had dinner at Recipe's Greenbelt. I remember the first time he called me was when I was headed to that same restaurant because I was to meet my friends for our barkada anniversary.

Banapple Ayala Triangle

Kitt's birthday is in two days but we celebrated it today. Everyone's there except for the Sandra-Arnie loveteam, and Anne's boyfriend Boying who's in LA.

A Very Japa-nice Valentine

Monday, February 14, 2011 1
I don't remember the last time I went on a decent Valentine's date. Seriously. So when I learned that Jeff had the whole day planned, I never asked. I wanted to be surprised. It wasn't like the poshiest dinner someone could ever have, this isn't the first time we've had Japanese but it just felt too special for me. He made an early reservation at Sugi in Greenbelt 2 because as expected, couples will be everywhere.

JACKS Dinner at Army Navy

Tuesday, December 28, 2010 1
Every year, my girls and I schedule a Christmas dinner. We've been doing it since 2005. Last year, were at Abe in Bonifacio High Street. This year, we just settled for a burger place because of our very complicated schedules. We dined at Army Navy in Glorietta 5. The morning before this, Jeff and I were in Tarlac to fetch my niece so he's kinda tired with the drive.

I also saw this kind of sign at Mexicali in Megamall. Do they really have to teach people how to eat burritos? Haha.

Burger Avenue at A. Venue

Monday, December 6, 2010 1
Today is yet another burger day. We stopped by the radio station where Jeff is doing his part time stint as a DJ to record his Christmas message, but I dunno what happened. We ended up eating lunch at Burger Avenue across the street. The radio station is near A. Venue along Makati Ave. I am a fan of grilled/charboiled burgers, and I feel like Burger Avenue tastes like Hotshots. Or maybe it's just me.

Focaccia

Sunday, November 21, 2010 0
Yet again, another blog without food photos. Lame right? Haha.

So after Jeff's radio show, his friends decided to have dinner. Nearest was A. Venue so we all went there. Focaccia is an Italian restaurant, or that's what I think. The gang ordered three kinds of pizza, which I don't eat much because of the pork. Yes, I haven't been eating pork for like a year now. ;) I think Cholo and his wife Ivy ordered pesto pasta and Chuckie ordered Marinara. Not very sure because I was shy to take pictures. :D

Conti's Greenbelt

Thursday, October 28, 2010 1
Today I met Jeff's friends. They were having a meeting in Conti's at Greenbelt. Jeff works in Conti's at the moment. I had some pasta which I don't remember. But the highlight of the night was the cake. Some chocolate, hazelnut, and whatever it is.

PS. I think Conti's puts a potion in their food that makes their customers forget what they ate. See what happened to me? Haha.
