50's Diner

Saturday, April 30, 2011 0
After finding our way out in Wright Park at around 11.30AM (or maybe sometime 12nn), Jeff asked me where to eat lunch. It was my assignment to look for restaurants haha! I told him we should eat at 50's Diner. I read it's an American themed restaurant that serves, of course, American food. By the way, my fiancé is American born. Yup, he holds an American passport while I still have the green, not the maroon, Filipino passport. It sucks right? Hahaha.

So we hailed a cab and asked the driver to take us to 50's Diner. To our surprise, the driver asked which branch are we talking about. I don't remember reading that there are two branches, and Jeff doesn't remember that there are two. So he just told the driver to take us to the nearest one.

50's Diner located at Upper General Luna Road. I wonder where's the other one.

Strawberry Taho

A friend told me that the best strawberry taho (soft tofu) in Baguio is in Strawberry Farm. I scrapped the trip to the farm a few days back because according to my friend Kitt, who was in Baguio a week before, there were very few strawberries these days. Strawberries are seasonal so there are a lot of it from December until February. Also, the Strawberry Farm is far from the city proper so traveling that far and not getting strawberries would be very frustrating.

After breakfast, we went to Mines View Park and Good Shepherd Convent. Our next stop was The Mansion and Wright Park. To my surprise, we found a man selling strawberry taho in Wright Park! Yay!

I am not sure about the measurement, but maybe it's 6oz. The strawberry syrup was too sweet and there were bits of strawberry in it. It's more expensive than the normal taho that we know.
Price: Php15.00/cup

Cafe by the Ruins

Before Jeff and I went to Baguio, I researched for good restaurants to visit. Yep, not tourist destinations, but places to eat. Hahaha! We arrived in Baguio at around 4AM, settled in at the hotel by 5AM and decided to sleep til around 7AM. When the clock rang, I dragged Jeff out of bed because I was so hungry and we went to Cafe by the Ruins.

The place, according to its website, was once a garden theater which was turned into a home by the first civil governor of Benguet, Phelps Whitmarsh. It was destroyed in World War II. They turned it into a beautiful restaurant which has a lot of plants and local decors.

Krazy Garlik

Friday, April 29, 2011 0
It has always been our barkada's tradition to eat out everytime someone is celebrating her birthday. It's Camela's turn today. Her birthday is on the first of April but we were all too busy and just found time today. We first thought of eating at Pepper Lunch, and then California Pizza Kitchen but both are packed with people. So we settled for the restaurant beside CPK which is Krazy Garlik.

We were asked to wait for a table. We got a table pretty fast knowing that it was a Friday night. There were six of us; Camille, Randie, Kitt, Anne, Jeff and me. They weren't hungry. Jeff and I were starving. Haha. We ordered two pastas, pizza and six bottomless iced tea.

Krazy Garlic. 2nd floor Greenbelt 5.

Pepper Lunch

Monday, April 25, 2011 2
Today marks our 187th day. Or 6th month. Nope, we don't celebrate monthsaries. Since we became a couple, the 24th was never a weekend. Until today. I let Jeff plan the day. I'm running out of ninja tricks so it's time to check my ninja book. (Just kidding, there's no such thing). Anyway, I went to Victory Liner in Cubao to get our tickets to Baguio this coming weekend. Woot! We met in SM Megamall where I bought him his engagement watch, a G Shock. Hahaha. Then off we went to Alabang Town Center.

He suggested we eat at Pepper Lunch.

Cafe Cristina Antipolo

Sunday, April 17, 2011 0
Jeff and I just came from a short but relaxing trip to Casa Ibiza, also here in Antipolo. Food was kinda awful so I asked him if we can have early dinner. We went to Cafe Cristina around 6PM. What's good about the place, aside from the cozy ambiance and free WIFI, is the big and FREE car park behind it. Also, it is beside BPI Family Bank so you can easily withdraw money when you order too much and run out of cash.

Here are the pictures of the food we ordered. For some reason, I can't remember the prices. :(

And I ordered the sinful Chocolate Milkshake topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Yum!

#mercatotweetup

Saturday, April 16, 2011 1
Every month, Twitter people gather to meet, eat and have some fun. This month, the tweet up is at Mercato Centrale at the Bonifacio Global City. This is only my second tweet up, first was at #ramentweetup at Ramen Bar in Eastwood. Jeff and I have been here once with his sister after we ran at the Condura Run last February.

Here are a few pictures I took.

I asked Jeff if we can try the Ilocos Bagnet. We are both cutting on our meat consumption, especially pork and beef. But hey, Bagnet is one of the bestsellers here at Mercato so it's really a must try. The guy in this picture cut the pork into strips and put it inside the oven.

Phily's Cheesesteak Diner

Sunday, April 10, 2011 1
A few days ago, I told Jeff I haven't tried Philly Cheesesteak. Hey, don't judge me. I like beef, I like cheese, but for some reason, I haven't really tried this one. He said we'll try it soon in an American restaurant. Too giddy, I googled a place where we can eat. And I found this place: Phily's Cheesesteak Diner in Home Depot along J.Vargas St. in Ortigas. Turns out that the diner also has a branch in the Ateneo cafeteria.

Anyway, we were supposed to go to Enchanted Kingdom today but we just decided to eat somewhere and maybe watch a movie later. We went at Phily's at around 4PM. The prices were unbelievably cheap! Okay, let's call it affordable. Haha! Here are a few pictures and prices. I apologize for the pictures. I didn't have my DSLR with me so I just used my Blackberry.

Adarna Restaurant and my Engagement

Sunday, April 3, 2011 0
Jeff picked me up early afternoon today. We had to get rid/sell my Nokia E5, get my BlackBerry at his house (because he forgot it at home but we ended up staying longer because his car was broken), and finally have dinner at Adarna Restaurant.

Adarna Restaurant is along Kalayaan Avenue in Quezon City. It is owned by Tita Beth Angsioco. Yes, THE Elizabeth Angsioco. We met her through Twitter and Jeff's radio show friends, Hashtag. Anyway, I've been to Adarna once with Jeff's friends. Yep, without him. He was in Cabanatuan that time to conduct training. Here are a few pictures I took.

View from the inside. Lovin' the whole old-ish vibe inside the place.
